Itinerary
Day 01: Australia - Hanoi
Fly to Hanoi by Vietnam Airlines. Hanoi, a city of lakes, shaded boulevards and public parks with friendly people is the capital of Vietnam. Upon arriving, transfer to the hotel and stay for 3 nights.
Day 02: Hanoi (B/L)
Morning tour of Hanoi includes One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature; dedicated to Confucius, Hoan Kiem Lake, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum; the final resting place of Ho Chi Minh, St. Joseph Cathedral. After lunch, take a rickshaw to the "Old Quarters". Here you can shop for local handicrafts and souvenirs.
Day 03: Hanoi - Halong Bay - Hanoi (B/L)
After breakfast, drive east to Halong Bay along Highway 5 across Hai Hong Province. Excursion by boat through Halong Bay including seafood lunch on board (4 hours) which cruising on a traditional wooden boat along the emerald water and craggy limestone formations. Return to the pier and drive back to Hanoi.
Day 04: Hanoi - Hue (B)
After breakfast, fly to the old city of Hue. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel for 1 night. Hue, served as the capital of Vietnam for more than 140 years. Afternoon: Enjoy your half-day city tour of the Imperial Palace, Tu Duc Imperial Tombs and Dong Ba local market.
Day 05: Hue - Hoi An (B/L)
In the morning you are free to enjoy more of this peaceful town at your own pace. After lunch, drive to Hoi An across the Hai Van Pass, Lang Co and Danang with spectacular views. Upon arriving in Hoi An, check in at the hotel for 2 nights.
Day 06: Hoi An (B/L)
After breakfast, visit the charming town of Hoi An on foot. After lunch, you will take a boat trip on Thu Bon River to visit a handicraft village.
Day 07: Hoi An - Danang - Saigon (B)
After breakfast, drive to Danang Airport for your flight to Saigon. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel for 2 nights. Afternoon: excursion to Cu Chi Tunnels, a 200km long network of tunnels connecting command posts, hospitals, shelters and weapon factories during the Vietnam War.
Day 08: Saigon - Mekong Delta - Saigon (B/L)
From Saigon, we drive to the Mekong Delta and take a boat ride to visit Cai Be and its wonderful floating market. Then we will continue through the Bywaters and canals to witness the daily local life.
Day 09: Saigon - Australia (B)
Morning: Half-day city tour which includes Notre Dame Cathedral, The Central Post office, City Hall, Ben Thanh Market and Dong Khoi Street or "Rue Catinet". Afterwards you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back to Australia.
Day 10: Australia
Morning arrival back to Australia.
